Bill Torrey

Bill has over 30
years of experience in the financial arena with the majority of his experience
with banking and credit card applications. He started his career with several
banks in the New York City area before moving to Florida in 1980 to take a
position as Senior Vice President of Deposit Systems with Kirschman Corporation
. He was with PaySys International for 2 ½
years as R&D manager and spent over 10 years
running his own software consulting company. In addition to Bill’s strong
general and project management skills he is also a strong mainframe technician and installed
and maintains our PC
LAN network here at Softech. Bill is also very strong in many PC development
"tools". He has developed PC applications that interface with the
mainframe via export functions utilizing Microsoft Access and Access Basic. Bill
was also heavily involved in the Y2K arena, heading up two major Y2K
analysis and code remediation projects.
Personal
Bill was born and grew up in Queens, New York City, New York. After serving two years in
the Army (68-70), Bill attended Hofstra University where he graduated with
honors with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. He is married to
Kathy (nee Mahoney) and they have two grown children. Bill Jr. graduated from
West Point in 1999 and is now serving in Germany as a Captain in the Military
Police. Mike Graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer
Science from The Catholic University of America and is now attending Georgia
Institute of Technology where he will graduate with a Masters Degree in Information Security. Kathy
is a first grade teacher and a Nationally Board Certified Teacher. Kathy and Bill moved to Florida in 1980 and
currently reside in Winter Springs. Bill is an avid golfer and enjoys walking
and bike riding.
