Mainframe Application Development in both Batch and CICS for both MVS and DOS Environments
They don’t call us
propeller heads for nothing! When we first 
incorporated,
we almost used a "dinosaur" wearing a
"propeller hat" as our company logo. We
have been hearing for years that the mainframe,
and especially COBOL, were dead. As a matter of
fact, one of the main reasons Softech is in
existence today is that software providers were
informing their employees years ago that the
primary thrust of all new product development
would be on the "client server" platform
rather than the "mainframe". Based on
the enormous financial investment in both
mainframes and CICS based transaction processing,
we just didn’t believe that a major evolution in
platforms was going to happen in the short term.
So "voila", Softech was born. Here we
are six years later, developing mainframe
applications and interfaces in COBOL/CICS/VSAM to
interface with the many "new"
applications written and developed for, guess
what, yep, the Mainframe COBOL/CICS/VSAM Platform.
Mainframes are kinda like rock n’ roll – they
will never die! (At least not until after most of
us have retired!)
